With the
recent acquisition of XMetaL, I'm finding that I have limited time to devote to
Focus Area activities. Consequently, I'd like to nominate Su-Laine Yeo to
replace me as co-chair of the editorial board. Su-Laine has a great
usability and interaction design background that will be really helpful at this
stage in the site's evolution, and she's also very knowledgeable about DITA.
For those of you who don't know Su-Laine, here's a
brief bio:
As the person
responsible for the usability of the XMetaL product family, Su-Laine works with
writers to define excellence in professional authoring tools. Her work in
designing the XMetaL Author DITA Edition has given her a deep appreciation for
DITA, and an enthusiasm for helping the community understand and use the
standard. Su-Laine has developed and delivered several conference presentations
on DITA, and co-authored the “Planning for DITA Success” whitepapers in
conjunction with the Rockley Group. She has worked in the software development
industry since 1996 as a technical communicator, usability specialist,
interaction designer, and software trainer.
If this is acceptable to the group, I'll formerly hand
over the reins at our next monthly meeting, on June 8.
