Minutes: 11 Oct 2007 EdBoard Meeting
- From: "Carol Geyer" <carol.geyer@oasis-open.org>
- To: "'DITA Editorial Board'" <dita-fa-edboard@lists.xml.org>
- Date: Thu, 11 Oct 2007 17:44:42 -0400
Attending: Bob, Don, Amber, Su-Laine, Carol, Scott, JoAnn
1) Decisions
-Remove 'Best practices' and 'Solutions' pages. (DONE)
-Remove 'Other' section in Wiki (DONE)
-Revisit idea of 'Coffee with the pros' at some point in the future
-Keep date stamps in 'Recent content' box
2) Unresolved issues
-Should we use the term 'Knowledgebase' instead of 'Wiki', since it's not
really a wiki? Would that detract from the concept of encouraging people to
contribute?
-Should we remove Book navigation?
-How do we make Forums more useful and less redundant with yahoo list?
3) Action items
AI: Kay should contact user groups to ask them to update their pages. If they
prefer to maintain other pages/sites and don't want to duplicate information,
they should just put a pointer on their dita.xml.org page, so the info doesn't
get stale.
AI: JoAnn will write next <soapbox> article on Indexing
AI: Carol to ask IT to:
-fix wiki book pages so unregistered/logged-out people can view them
-install 'Categories' module
-add teasers of most recent new pages to homepage
-In 'Recent content' box, insert space between "new("
AI: Carol to:
- edit ABOUT THIS SITE page to reflect combined KB and wiki
- make 'Site Maps' link more prominent
- remove footer navigation (in favor of site map)
Unassigned AI:
- Check to see if there is any Drupal module to support discussion
