Hi:

I'm following up on the regular expression discussion for XML. 
There is a Java package out there that you might want to evaluate:
It's called PAT, and follow the PERL syntax for regualr expressions.
I found it at: http://www.win.net/~stevesoft/pat
I have not tried it yet, but the documentation makes it interesting
and seems quite easy to use at first glance.
