For those who do not keep up with other language communities,
Daniel Lipkin from Oracle has posted a proposal for a VRML EXTERNPROTO
that enables a VRML author to use XML as a source for metadata
through DOM interfaces. It is simple but it is a good beginning.
It also shows that other langugage communities are working towards
integration with XML sources and that augurs well for the
content.
