Have a look at Rick Geimer's site (http://www.sesha.com/omlette/rtf2xml/) - he has
written one in OmniMark that will run on the free version (OMLE). It works very
nicely.
As an aside, don't hold your breath waiting for support from Word in Office 2000 -
I've been looking at a beta this week and it appears to store the document in
straight HTML. The only thing that looks vaguely like XML is the document
properties section and some formatting information, all embedded in comments. This
redefinition of RTF into angle brackets is IMHO far less satisfactory than the
software referred to above. The index in the Word documentation doesn't even
include an entry for XML; I rank the XML support as virtually nil.
