I think people have misread Ann's comment.
She is asking "for a means of discovering what belongs
with that name, it's associated definitions, semantics, and other data
that
may be necessary to complete their operations."
In other words, what declarations does this name appear in? What
schema does this name participate in?
This seems a reasonable thing to ask.
