Actually, I think what was missing was the rationale for:
Three flavors of XHTML -> Three namespaces for XHTML
I don't think anyone's argued hard that three flavors of DTDs was a
horrible thing, though I know many of us (including, perhaps even Ann)
would just as soon reduce it to one.
