I'm not sure that this actually clarifies the genuinely contentious issues.
'Three distinct XML applications' still doesn't imply 'three distinct XML
namespaces'. The Namespaces in XML Recommendation only describes software
applications, not 'XML applications'. There doesn't appear to be any
correlation between applications and namespaces, and I think that issue
(also described as DTDs/schemas and namespaces) is what's keeping this
discussion grinding along, going nowhere quickly.
'Vocabularies' might be a better word to use (more in keeping with the NiX
rec), though there the overlap between the three vocabularies makes it hard
to justify.
