Don't forget XML vs. relational databases.  That one hasn't reared its 
head for almost a year, but it was interesting at the time.

Oh yes, we forgot a big one, formats vs. protocols (try talking about
XML with a CORBA person for more than 30 seconds, and you'll see what
I mean).
