I think the policy you've been following for the past year has worked pretty
well.  Although we've had discussions that got off-topic, and went on a bit
too long, they've always eventually ended.  So while we don't always
self-moderate ourselves *quickly*, we do eventually get it done.  :-)

(It sometimes seems to me like the "unsubscribe" emails tend to come more
frequently when one of these drawn-out discussions is going on.  Is that
just my imagination?  I know currently the OASIS move is going on, but my
feeble recollection seems to tell me it's happened during other discussions
too...)
