We have plans to address that in Castor. We already have the capability
to get from database to XML (or Java) using OQL queries, and use XML
Schema to create a unified persistence schema which also applies to Java
objects and LDAP.
You can check the existing implementation at http://castor.exolab.org
If you have some time to contribute (it's an open source project), that
would be great.
