Currently the ability to call java external functions within XSLT is not
a part of the initial XSLT spec. Does anyone out there wish it was
or realize a need for this type of thing.

e.g. as in using xerces and xalan to be able to call java function "a"
within the foo_java class

xsl file:

<?xml version="1.0"?>

<xsl:stylesheet xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform" version="1.0"
xmlns:java_call="http://xml.apache.org/xslt/java"
exclude-result-prefixes="java_call">

  <xsl:template match="tag1">
  <xsl:element name="tag1">
    <xsl:variable name="arg1" select="string(.)"/>
    <xsl:value-of select="java_call:foo_java.a($arg1)"/>
  </xsl:element>
  </xsl:template>
</xsl:stylesheet>

psuedo xml DOCUMENT:

<?xml version="1.0"?>
<document>
<tag1> info </tag1>
</document>
