Given the sheer size (financial and otherwise) of the publishing industry,
I was struck by
http://www.public.iastate.edu/~CYBERSTACKS/EJI.htm
which is a registry of "A Registry of Innovative E-Journal Features,
Functionalities, and Content".
You may note that XML has one entry (which I am not unfamiliar with).
But I was rather surprised that it was the only one. I suspect as with much
XML, its all "under the hood" rather than overtly exposed as an "innovative"
component. Perhaps the publishers do not wish to expose their commercial
secrets.
Contact "Gerry Mckiernan" <GMCKIERN@gwgate.lib.iastate.edu>
if list members know of other XML related innovative publishing which
perhaps should be listed there.
