(Click on "en PHP" or "With PHP" for examples of a relational map database.  Click on "Cartographie" or "Cartography" for examples of SVG maps on the client.)

 

Both of the above are currently using relational back ends, but a native XML database could be used to persist SVG.

 

Another XML/mapping connection is GML.  See:
