I think I wasn't clear enough in my previous message.
The parser may not care what the database says its encoding is.
The parser may need to be explicitly told what encoding to use.
What code are you using to parse the CLOB? Can you cut and paste the code
(Java, I assume) into a message?
I think the Oracle parser has a method for setting the input encoding. Try
using that.
