Mark,
You need to access it through the XML Dom. First create an object of you
XML file, then access the nodes you want using the Document Object Model:
//load your xml file
var xml = new ActiveXObject('Microsoft.XMLDOM');
xml.async = false;
xml.load('yourXMLFile.xml');
//access name node
alert(xml.selectSingleNode('//name').text);
This is using the old Microsoft parser. If you have installed msxml3 then
you can use
'MSXML2.DOMDocument.3.0'
when creating the object. (Im unaware if there are any differences between
implementations of the DOM though, anyone?)
