Well, how about this classic Oracle example:

http://www.example.com/dbs/sample?select+emp.name,dep.name+from+emp,dep+
where+emp.dep=dep.id+order+by+emp.name

That seems quite readable (and certainly constructible) to me, and would
work fine.
