Today, I found a hole in my head. Actually, it's a bald spot but it
casts a hole in my ego. Its amazing how much hair affects an otherwise
intelligent mind. No wonder monks shave their head.

Watching XPath vs XQuery discussion unfold is like watching two old
cranky ol' men argue inside a barbershop while I am waiting for the
light to turn green. Well, entire world is waiting for the light to
turn green.

Will XQuery or XPath turn the light green so we can all start moving
again? I don't think so. If people are not upgrading their SQL
servers, I doubt they will buy into some XQuery-based fancy database
servers. XPath 2.0 is cool, but then it bothers me that I can no longer
open the hood of my car with confidence.

To both XPath and XQuery people I have this to say: stop and let the
world catch up with you. You see, they are still waiting at the light.

Best,

Don Park
