Namespaces don't provide much advantage as long as you
deal mainly with your own vocabularies, i.e. you have
full control, or nearly so. You'll find namespaces
more attractive if you have to deal with vocabularies
other people have set up, in particular if multiple
independently developed vocabularies are involved.
How would you do stuff like XSLT or embedding SVG in
XSLFO or provide extension hooks without namespaces?
