The BinHex notation uses the characters
!\"#$%&'()*+,-012345689@ABCDEFGHIJKLMNPQRSTUVXYZ[`abcdefhijklmpqr

In order to embed BinHex you need to replace all " and ' and & with 
the named character references.  &quot; and &apos;  and &amp;   There is no
need for a marked section, and these are not possible in attributes.
When the information is read back in, the XML parser will process the attribute
value so that the character references are replaced by the actual characters,
so this is only something you need to attend to when generating your document.

Usually in XML people use the Bin64 notation, which does not require
delimiting.
