Hello,

I'm new to the Document Object Model and I have a
question about Level 1 vs. Level 2.

The W3C site consistently states that the Level 2 DOM
"extends" the Level 1 DOM. Does "extend" mean
"replace"?

I.e., if I want to learn the DOM with respect to XML,
I can ignore the Level 1 documents and just read the
Level 2 specs--everything from Level 1 that is still
relevant has been included in Level 2. Or, do I still
need to look through both sets of specs to get the
complete view of DOM?

Thanks,
Glen
