As promised, here is the official announcement that our editor is available.
The release posted today adds drag-and-drop, better font support, and many
other features. Users with previous version may find it useful to update
to this version. Thanks to all the beta testers: please contact me for registration
numbers.
The Linux and Mac betas will be available tomorrow.

Next Generation Collaborative
XML/SGML Markup Editor Released

A new tool for professional publishing
teams and individuals has been launched
by Topologi Pty Ltd. The Topologi
Collaborative Markup Editor supports
the whole of lifecycle for large and
complex XML and SGML documents.
Document processing with structured markup
languages presents a number of challenges
-- documents may be large; they are
frequently worked on by a team, raising
collaboration and management issues; team
members may range from highly skilled
subject and technical experts to casual
non-expert users who need to be productive
with a minimum of training.
Founder and CTO Rick Jelliffe explains "The
lack of editing tools has been a chronic
problem facing those who use standards-based
markup languages for documentation projects.
Standard text editors don't provide
enough validation but XML editors lack the
flexibiltiy that publishers require."
A beta version of the Topologi Editor previewed
at recent XML conferences generated much
favorable comment. Edd Dumbill, Managing Editor
of XML.com wrote in his <taglines/> column,
"Rick Jelliffe has consistently challenged
conventional thinking in the XML world. Rick
may well be on the verge of a big improvement to
one of the thorniest areas for users of XML,

Community Edition can be downloaded from
Topologi's website, http://www.topologi.com
freely for an evaluation period of up to 30
days. An introductory level registration fee
for single users is US$59. An annual site
license for an unlimited number of users
costs US$5,000 including support. A high-end
version of the editor will be released later
in 2002.
A plug-in is available to allow typesetting and
PDF generation (e.g. for realistic previews)
from a shared server.
