I'm pretty sure the third assumption killed the other two.

[Is anyone acquainted with Kenneth Arrow's "General Possibility Theorem",
more popularly known as his Impossibility Theorem?  The specifics of the
theorem aren't relevant here, but it is the exemplar of a sobering lesson
for all blue sky thinkers: a set of criteria, each desirable individually
considered, may have no resolution which satisfies all of them.]
