I read it in Aleister Crowley a very long
time ago although I am told it is older than
his scribblings. First there is Nothing.
If there is Anything besides Nothing, there is
Everything that is. Blame Cantor for the rest.
Then there is John Sowa's lattice soup
or topic maps. If Nothing is Sacred,
do we pray for no reason or to No Thing?
Or...
We make a theory, then we get a stick and
beat other monkeys into agreeing to
act as if that it were the truth.
Or, we make a theory and act on it, and
other monkeys imitate our actions
because our theory makes us act in ways
that are observably successful.
Choose wisely.
Yeah, len's in one of his moods. It
is the smell of bodies rotting in the
desert, antiquities smashed beyond
recovery, and the gloating of the
merely overarmed while tribal
hatred boils back to the surface in
the land that gave us civilization.
It makes me nauseous. I apologize
and will take this elsewhere.
