RE: [xml-dev] OCLC turns evil (was ISO turns evil?)

[ Lists Home | Date Index | Thread Index ]

I recommend the Four Noble Truths and the Eightfold Path, personally.

Professionally? The sudden and pervasive presence of global networked
communications to the scale of the local desktop has created a percolation
of intellectual property laws, practices and goals. While this creates
uncertainty, it creates opportunity and the opportunistic will pursue
these. So far, normal. A little further on will be a reordering of
the property laws to balance the system, but that doesn't happen while
the pot is at full boil. Neither ISO nor the OCLC are evil; just a
bit misguided, so the problem is not defeating evil, but guidance.

Patience and focus. Good things will come of this.

Who knew that someone owned the Dewey Decimal System?
