is 62 characters long, not counting the byte order mark. I have
published books in which I was required to keep all lines of code to
54 characters or less. Not being able to insert a line break in the
XML declaration would be a significant hardship for me and anyone
else who writes about XML with largish fonts on narrowish pages.
