	Apparently, there has also been some discussion in the ASN.1

It seems to me that it would be very useful for these two groups (W3C
XML Schema Working Group and ASN.1) to attempt to work together to
define a common datatype in this case. Given that the X.694 standard
defined by the ASN.1 group will probably need to be updated anyway if
W3C adds new datatypes to XSD, it seems clear that everyone's
interests would be served by working together on this one.
