The focus of the program is breakthrough technology for data integration, process interoperability, and decision support.

Expanding on last year’s first run of this seminal event at the White House Conference Center, Semantic Technologies for eGov 2004 offers a comprehensive event in an extended two day format.  Topics include a Special Tutorial on Semantic Web Applications,  RDF/S and OWL, executive briefings summarizing new research on the benefits, value and lifecycle ROI of semantic technologies for government and industry, the semantic web landscape and implementation case studies.

Keynote and featured speakers this year include Eric Miller, Semantic Web Activity Lead, World Wide Web Consortium; Jeff Pollock, Vice President Technology, Network Inference; George Strawn, CIO, NSF; Zvi Schreiber, CEO, Unicorn; Mills Davis, Managing Director, TopQuadrant-TopConnexions; and Professor Jim Hendler, University of Maryland.  For details and times of presentations see http://www.topquadrant.com/conferences/sept8_2004/stgov04.htm

The conference Call for Papers resulted in many good submissions being received. Selected papers will be presented at one of the two tracks at the conference. Several papers will also be presented as poster sessions. The conference program includes vendor exhibits. Exhibiting companies include such leading technology vendors as Convera, Digital Harbor, IBM and Unicorn Solutions.

In response to a growing interest in the use of Semantic Web in government Last Year's Event  was oversubscribed.  We recommend that you Register Today.   Limited exhibit space is still available.  Vendors interested in having a table exhibit at the event should contact Loren Osborn at federal@unicorn.com

Please distribute this email to your peers and others you think may have an interest in the Second Semantic Technologies for eGov Conference, September 8-9, 2004.
