as its input and output types, in which case you have a point.
My idea of a next-to-perfect way of developing web services is that a
compiler of a statically typed language imports a schema (=contract),
uses it to typecheck a program, and then as an extra generates the WSDL
from descriptors. The schema would not change (and the thread seems to
explore use cases where schemas can change). But then, such a compiler
could also import the schema from the WSDL.
