Yes, I was referring to the strict definition of validness as per the XML 
spec; if it was to ok to ignore DOCTYPE/DTDs etc, and that seems pretty ok. 
Producing proper -- "valid" in the broad sense -- XHTML, Docbook, etc, is 
must, of course.
