Well ecmascript DOM and CSS have been standardised, I think that hits
a large bit of the macro needs. behaviors are in some way under
standardization.
I would think that the office application most discardable/replacable
by some confluence of HTML and associated standards would be Slideshow
application
Followed by Word Processor
Followed by what?
