It will be interesting to see these figures in late 2008. More people and
organizations will be mandating ISO ODF for interchange and archiving (and
more tools will support it) and Microsoft will have switched over to the
Office Open XML formats by default and be on the way to moving their
installed base over.

Then the discussion will not be on how much of the data is in XML, but on
how much of the XML is richly-enough marked up to be useful for
retargeting and management.
