There is a lot of incompetence in the world, and the junior programmers in
large companies who are often allowed to put error messages into the product
(not to mention the technical authors employed to write the documentation)
are not immune from it. But if they are wrong, they are wrong. Agreed, as a
user you often have to put up with products and manuals that are wrong, but
they are still wrong.
