Time is running out to submit a presentation, tutorial, or panel session
online at:

Proposal deadline: 15 December 2006
OASIS SYMPOSIUM 2007
eBusiness and Open Standards: Understanding the Facts, Fiction, and Future
15-20 April 2007
San Diego, California USA
Promoters of eBusiness and eGovernment (eB/eG) have set a vision of
seamless integration of enterprises, agencies or administrations of all
sizes, exchanging business transactions and documents with little or no
human intervention, along known models such as value chains,
supply-chains, and collaboration processes, reducing costs, delays and
frictions. We are today at a point where there is enough experience behind
us for an assessment, and also enough preview of what emerging
technologies and standards are likely to shape the future of eB/eG, not to
mention new trends in developing and publishing software.
OASIS invites proposals for talks, panel sessions and tutorials related to
the technology, business practices, and market of eB/eG with a clear focus
on answering some of the previous questions. The topics addressed by
successful submissions include, but are not limited to:
• Analysis and Current Status of eB/eG
• Deploying and Operating eB/eG
• Major Functional Requirements of an eB/eG Infrastructure
(are they fulfilled today?)
• The New Technology Environment (how will it impact eB/eG?)
PROPOSAL INSTRUCTIONS – Submit proposals for review by the OASIS Symposium
Program Committee using the online form at
http://www.oasis-open.org/events/symposium/2007/call-for-participation.php.
Submission guidelines and instructions are provided there.
DEADLINE – 15 December 2006
In addition to the Symposium program, the event will include the quarterly
meeting of the OASIS Board of Directors (open for all OASIS members to
attend), the Annual General Member Meeting, sponsor exhibits, poster
presentations, and informative workshops from staff on how to build
stronger support for your work, start new Committees, and take full
advantage of consortium services. Also back by popular demand, the program
will feature Technical Committee Lightning Rounds, a fast and fun way to
track related work and make valuable connections.
About the location: The venue is the San Diego Marriott Mission Valley
<http://marriott.com/property/propertypage/SANMV>, a landmark,
resort-style hotel with a unique blend of Spanish accents and tropical
landscaping. You'll want to plan time to experience the excitement of the
Gaslamp Quarter, Old Town, SeaWorld, and many more San Diego attractions
minutes from the hotel.
Remember, participating in the Symposium is a primary benefit of OASIS
membership, and everyone is strongly encouraged to make plans now.
Maximize your travel by scheduling a meeting and invite others from your
organization to attend. If you've never attended an OASIS Symposium,
ask another member about why these once-a-year gatherings are so
valuable—or ask anyone from the Technical Advisory Board
<http://www.oasis-open.org/who/tab.php>, which hosts the program.
