Line number of a node

Hello,

I want to know the line number of a node. I'm programming with Java and I
have got a XPointer or XPath expression which points at specific element. My
XML document has nodes whose value is an expression that needs to be
evaluated, I want to point the user to the offending line in the document.

Is there is a way to find out the line number of a node?

Thanks.
