sending a filesystem webservice?

Hi,

I need to define a data interchange for exchanging filesystems over
http. I figured basically what I would do is to say that the format is
basically a gzipped ISO 9660 with an XML metadata file at the root
directory passed with clarifications as to the particular usage
expected. Does this seem reasonable. Any things I am likely to run
into as problems in that scenario? Does anyone know of any standards
where this has been done or similar things where a filesystem needs to
be passed. Any particular XML formats for describing working with ISO
filesystems that anyone can point to?

Cheers,
Bryan Rasmussen
