Distributed objects have been tried and failed numerous times before 
now. Sprinkling REST pixie dust on this bad idea won't magically make it 
work this time.

Even more strongly, I've recently begun to suspect that the problem is a 
little more fundamental than merely distributing objects. I'm beginning 
to suspect that any form of object persistence is a fantasy. Objects 
cannot be exported from their runtime environments; but that's a subject 
for another thread and perhaps a different mailing list.

That being said, I'm not sure distributed objects is really what 
Jelliffe's proposing, but he should probably avoid using object oriented 
language to describe what he is doing, which at first glance seems quite 
reasonable and commendable.
