That's not fair.
Vote on the rank of the best of the five where best is service to the list
over its lifetime (domain of sample used to get the original list).
My vote:
1. Kay
3. Jelliffe
4. Cowan
5. St Laurent
NOTE: I'd change the first two easily for technical contributions. But if
the value is the list, Kay is a disciplined teacher.
I don't belong in that list. All I am is a witness and commentator.
Then look at a time series of rate and rate of rate of postings, relate that
to topics. That graphs interests over time. Interests over time are a mind
set.

Subject: [xml-dev] Top 5 posters to xml-dev
Hi Folks,
Here are the top five posters to xml-dev:
1. Len Bullard ...... 4,482 messages
2. Simon St. Laurent ...... 2,932 messages
3. John Cowan ...... 2,360 messages
4. Michael Kay ...... 2,119 messages
5. Rick Jelliffe ...... 1,748 messages
This list is from markmail.org:
http://markmail.org/search/?q=xml-dev
Interestingly, their service is doing things in XML:
"Each [list] email is stored internally as an XML document, and accessed
using XQuery."
