=============================================================
COURSES AND SYMPOSIUM ANNOUNCEMENT
Two classes on Version 3.0 of NLM Journal Archiving And
Interchange Tag Suite.
An NLM Tag Set User Symposium
=============================================================
With the release of Version 3.0 of the Tag Suite, many current
users and potential users are asking questions. What has changed?
Do they need to upgrade? Will their customizations still work as
expected? How do the new bibliographic citation models work?
CLASSES
Mulberry is offering two new full-day classes centered around the
latest release of the Tag Suite, to answer questions about the
changes and clear up any confusion about the XML models, old or
new:
- "NLM Tag Suite 3.0 and Documents" will focus on
the changes to the tag sets that affect how
documents are tagged and used. It will also
review the new documentation and available tools.
- "Customizing the 3.0 Tag Sets" will focus on how
changes to the tag sets affect people who are making
customized versions of the tag sets, and will review
how the tag sets are shaped, what sorts of changes
are expected and facilitated, and how changes can be
most easily implemented. This class will include an
interactive demonstration of tag set customization.
SYMPOSIUM
On the day between these two classes, we will host the
"Symposium on User Experience with the NLM Tag Sets".
This will be an opportunity for tag set users to meet and share.
While some of the developers and maintainers of the tag suite will
participate in the symposium, the main focus will be users talking
with, sharing experiences with, and learning from other users.
Come prepared to talk as well as listen; to share your success
stories of obstacles overcome and/or tales of woe; illustrated
with tagged documents, stylesheets, or other artifacts if at all
possible.
