This isn't development-related but the news may be of interest to the community. Apparently Judge Leonard Davis, hearing a patent dispute U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, has issued an injunction ordering Microsoft to stop selling Word in its current form in the U.S. The case is "i4i Limited Partnership v. Microsoft Corporation" and it was filed in March, 2007. i4i asserts that Word's ability to generate XML violates one or more of its patents.
