OASIS invites you to
attend a free, 1 hour webinar addressing the issues involved in
delivering on the promise of Open Government.
The webinar is jointly hosted by the OASIS eGovernment (eGov)
Member Section and the Gilbane Group. John Borras from
the eGov Steering Committee and Dale Waldt from the Gilbane Group
will be making the presentation. This is one in a series
of outputs that the Member Section is producing as part of its
remit to promote the adoption and implementation of open standards
and practices that facilitate interoperability within and between
government agencies and all of their stakeholders, and to stimulate
the sharing of best practices and examination of use cases
concerning the delivery of eGovernment services.
The webinar will provide:
• an explanation of exactly what Open Government is,
• a review of its rise in prominence over the last few years,
• a look at current initiatives, USA/EU/others,
• a detailed look at some of the obstacles, e.g. lack of
standards/technology barriers/legal barriers
• advice on how to contribute to the debate,
• advice on how to start delivering on the
promise.
Who should attend:
• Government and other public sector officials responsible for ICT
policy and implementation.
• Providers of software and services to Governments.
• All OASIS members.
• All Gilbane Group members.
