Hi,
I am happy to announce that a new version of oXygen XML Editor is
available from our website
http://www.oxygenxml.com
The complete list of new additions and details can be found at
http://www.oxygenxml.com/index.html#new-version
I will highlight below a few of the new features and let you discover
the rest following the above link.
* Smart paste *
When I presented this to some people before the release most of the
reactions were "Wow!".
You can copy from Office documents or from HTML pages and paste in an
oXygen DITA, DocBook or TEI document and the content is magically
converted to that document format.
Of course there is no magic, only a simple processing workflow that is
triggered automatically on Paste:
- look for HTML or XHTML flavors
- convert that to XHTML
- apply the framework (DITA, DocBook, TEI) specific stylesheet to
handle the conversion from XHTML to the target vocabulary
- paste the result of this conversion
The conversion XSLT stylesheets are available inside each framework
(DITA, DocBook, TEI) configuration so you can enhance them or modify
them to change the default behavior. Also, you can provide a similar
stylesheet for your own document type and then you will be able to have
the same functionality for that vocabulary.
Note that the conversion is not always perfect and sometimes the result
requires some fixes to get a valid document.
Best Regards,
George
