Terminology: "bind" an attribute to an element?

Hi Folks,

I seek the correct terminology.

When I declare an element (in a DTD or an XML Schema or a RELAX NG schema):

I "bind" a name to a data type to create an element.

Is "bind" the correct term?

When I declare that element A has an attribute B:

    I "bind" attribute B to element A.

Is "bind" the correct term?

When I declare that element A consists of elements B, C, D:

    I "bind" elements B, C, D to element A.

Is "bind" the correct term?

If "bind" isn't the correct term, what is the correct term?

/Roger
