 I've spent the best part of the year working around the problems caused because the designers of the movie data sets I am working with don't know what 3NF is.

Take a movie like 12 years a slave on imdb (regarded as the canonical movie platform).  It's imdb is tt2027260. Take a look and see what happens to the url when you browse to it with.
