Re: [xml-dev] If I have a "header" section in my XML document, am Icreating a protocol (with its extra requirements about processing)?

Does the presence of a header field in an XML vocabulary turn it into a protocol, rather than merely a declarative description of structure and content?
I have heard people call HTML many things, but I have not heard it called a protocol. I don't think the presence of a header is close to sufficient for declaring something a protocol.

The absence of headers may be a better sign that something is NOT a protocol, but I can imagine a protocol without headers so long as efficiency isn't a primary goal.

Thanks,
Simon
