Standard XML or JSON vocabulary for expressing the set of testsperformed on a file and the results of those tests?

Hi Folks,

There are many use cases where tests are performed on a file and then the file is sent to another party along with metadata about the tests performed and the results of those tests. Here are a few example use cases:

- Test software to see if it is missing any patches. The software, tests performed and their results are sent to a tracking system.
- Test a file to see if it contains malware. The file, tests performed and their results are sent to a remediation team.
- Test a PKI certificate to see if it is valid. The PKI certificate, tests performed and their results are sent to a certificate authority.
- A patient file is sent to an office that does blood testing. The patient goes to the office, blood is drawn, and tests are performed on the blood. The file, tests performed and their results are sent to the patient's physician. [Obviously in this use case the testing is not done on the (patient) file but on the patient's blood]

Have you identified a set of metadata for expressing tests performed and their results? Is there a standard XML or JSON vocabulary?

/Roger
