A very reasonable guess indeed. Unfortunately, not correct. In my data the very first <Row> containing 15 child elements, the last child element (the last Excel column) contains data. An earlier column was deleted. Which one?

My [limited] understanding of spreadsheets is that if the
right-hand-most column[s] are missing (no data) they can be omitted.
This appears to be true for CSS export (try it and see), so perhaps they
are doing the same for their XML.
