Semantics and the Web: An Awkward History
- From: "Simon St.Laurent" <simonstl@simonstl.com>

This is probably the strangest of many strange messages I've sent this
list, but I recently posted a video on the history (and current status)
of markup.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=77qDvd5uOx8
It's 43 minutes long and the visuals use Playmobil figures. If that
isn't your thing, there's a transcript (currently text, soon to be
prettier HTML) at:
http://simonstl.com/balisage/TRANSCRIPT09042021.txt
It's based on a talk I gave at Balisage last month, expanded a bit to
cover questions and broaden the audience.
A lot of the material in that talk happened here on this list, or in the
neighborhood.
Thank you,
Simon
