Nancy,

If I have a chance later this evening, I'll set up a ballot on the SIDSC member area and ask folks to vote by next Monday EOB. Of course, you're probably familiar with that feature of the OASIS site, so feel free to beat me to the punch!

Hi,

I was hoping to get the SC to come to a consensus on my draft for a DITA 1.3 proposal tomorrow.  If we're not going to meet, can members of the committee indicate whether they support the draft wording I proposed for a proposal to have the DITA TC accept the
SIDSC's work as part of the 'official' DITA TC work?

I'm providing the text again below for your convenience:

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Proposal: inclusion of semiconductor industry-related specializations in DITA 1.3

The SIDSC has been working for the past few years on specializations related to the semiconductor industry, and produced a set of specializations for registers and their component parts.  While there are other specialized information types related to semiconductors
that could be developed in the future, the SIDSC would like to have the ones already developed included as part of DITA 1.3, in order to make them 'official'. We think this will facilitate their adoption.  The SIDSC is currently working on updating and improving
the already-existing documentation for these modules, and expects to complete that work within the 1.3 time frame.

Thanks,

Nancy

SIDSC Members;

I'm saddened to report that Noreen McMahan received tragic news regarding a death in her family last week. I'm sure she'd appreciate your thoughts and prayers.

As a vital member of my team here at Freescale, Noreen's absence put a little extra work onto my plate; thus I haven't not been able to get the SIDSC specification comments disposition
wiki page ready for our call tomorrow. Rather than have a less-than-productive teleconference, I'm going to cancel tomorrow's session. (Don't tell anyone, but I'm going to leave the event on my personal calendar in an attempt to block out interruptions so
that I can use that time slot to get the wiki page set up.)

Please feel free to use the
email list to submit any issues for "discussion" that need to be handled before the next scheduled teleconference two weeks from tomorrow.

Respectfully,

Bob Beims
