DOCBOOK-APPS: Is it possible to use profiling for different things?

Is it possible to use profiling for completely different things, at
the same time?

By "different things", I mean stuff like select different images for
FO and HTML, and filter out sections from the external release of a
document, while keeping them on the internal release.
